Fremont Gurudwara Elections
Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
Fremont Gurudwara Elections are coming up and I don't know a thing about anyone running, nor do I care. (There is information about some of the candidates at http://www.guroocities.com/panthicslate/.) Whoever loses is going to go make their own gurudwara anyway.
One side (not the side with the website above) released a DVD and handed it out to all sangat in the Bay Area. This DVD shows fight after fight that the two sides have had, of course showing one side as violent fundamentalists etc.. Anyway, they showed riot police coming in to the gurudwara with shoes. The police refuse to take them off saying its a safety issue. They say "control your community and this won't be necessary." But that doesn't make it any more right does it? Nobody should be allowed to go into guru sahib's darbar with shoes on with no respect for guru sahib. It is incredible disrespect and deeply painful.
At the same time, these idiots should take their fights outside or just stop fighting. This is ridiculous. The police are called to that gurudwara countless times.
Truthfully, you would think there would be one gursikh in the sangat at that gurudwara that would get up, walk over to the palki, and do sukhasan. Amidst all the fighting, one gursikh with enough intelligence and courage to go and do sukhasan and take guru sahib away until the fighting stops and beadbi ends.
But there is no such gursikh in that sangat. I would like to go during the elections in case theres a fight, but my family doesn't want to be anywhere near it, nor do any clear headed Singhs. I myself will probably be attending a rainsbaee for Baba Harnaam Singh's barsi one-hundred miles away.
I am double minded about this and will have to give it some thought. I rarely ever go to that gurudwara, so perhaps someone who regularly attends will read this and see where I am coming from and perhaps take some action.
